About Us

Preserving, promoting,
and enhancing the
quality of the summer camp experience

The American Camp Association, New York and New Jersey (ACA, NY & NJ) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the summer camp experience. We are an association comprised of a diverse range of organizations, including nonprofit and private camps, day and overnight camps, religiously affiliated camps, programs serving people with special needs, specialty camps, youth development organizations, and independent and private school programs.

Membership

When you become a member of ACA, NY and NJ, you are opening the door to invaluable benefits that support both your camp program and you as a camp professional. From networking opportunities to educational events to one-on-one support from our staff, your membership will serve as one of your greatest professional assets.

Professional Development

We are the premier source for camp professionals looking to learn, network, and stay current on the latest happening in the camp industry.  Our organization offers numerous conferences, webinars and networking opportunities throughout the year and runs the Tri-State CAMP Conference, which is the largest summer camp conference in the

Advocacy

We financially support your camps legislatively, at both the local and state levels, from Maine to Pennsylvania. We help advocate for the issues that matter most to your camps. We work tirelessly to ensure the best interests of our members are being represented.

Camper Placement Services

Families and caregivers looking for a summer camp can search our Find-A-Camp website for Accredited summer camps based on location, activities, session length, cost, and more.  They can also contact our Director of Camper Placement Renee Flax for free, personalized guidance in finding the right camp for their child.
